Choosing A Word To Use in Linguano
We have seen in "What is Linguano?" that there are several ways to choose a word for each vocabulary set. So how many synonyms do we have for a word?
The word for "night" can have several synonyms:
Classical Latin: nox > la noxa
Late Latin / Vulgar: noctem > la nocta
Romance: la nota
Specific Romance: noapta, notta, noca, nuota, nuita, nueita, nocia,...
Back-formed: nocturnale > nocturna
The word for "horse" can have several synonyms:
Classical Latin: equus > equos
Late Latin / Vulgar: caballus, caballum > caballo
Romance: cabalo, caballo
Specific Romance: calo, cavallo, cabaddo, shavalo, cavalio, ciaval...
So you can use all these words according to:
1. Preference
2. Classical, formal, casual tones
3. A native romance speaker you want to speak to (to increase mutual understanding).
Even word like "caballo" can have several meaning and it is okay to choose context, style, and what meaning you want to use in each writing/speech.
Thus, Linguano in the sense of vocabulary is not rigid or fixated but it is flexible and accomodating.
